Hi Tatyana,

Thanks for your appreciation. I guess there are never too many boy dancers anywhere ;). People can drop out from active competitive dancing at any age, so it is always about getting more people of all ages exposed to it to get the numbers. You won't find out and realize you could enjoy doing ballroom dancing, unless you really experience it.

In some countries people from dance schools go to schools and show the pupils what ballroom dancing is like, so they can experience it themselves. Then girls that take it up would even go to their class-mates - boys to join them, so they have partners to dance with. I experienced this myself, however unfortunately I was too 'stupid' at that age and didn't do it. Or to be more precise, I didn't get to really experience what it is like, so that I'd know I would like it. I was only asked if I would join. I think giving them a slight gentle 'push' just to experience it and try it out temporarily if they would enjoy it would help. Similarly as with many other activities. Then they could appreciate 'having been pushed' into it slightly at the beginning, though of course only gently and temporarily until they can experience what it is like.

Maybe parents here can tell you more on the current situation with boy dancers in Ireland. If you are actively looking for a juvenile boy, contact me. I have seen an ad for a juvenile boy, though I can't tell if he is not 'taken' yet. I'd send you the details ...

It's a junior boy we are interested in, daughter is 13.
But totally agree with your comments, more publicity is needed, although some schools here, are now trying to get dancing into schools, it would also help with children who are over weight and under active, as well as bored!

You could post in the 'Partners Wanted' here. I don't know of any junior boys looking for partner, only girls.
